Poem #47 for Gift Poem from Matthew Zimmerman

SUNRISE

beautiful young girl and I

sneak away

rake through the sand

the plovers eat breakfast

get charged by the ocean

AFTERNOON

sun hot, bars full

organic nourishment

coffee bean tea

America’s pastime

chaos and debauchery on the boardwalk

NAPTIME

antsy dreams

restlessness from lack of sleep

SUNSET

all the seagulls face north

all the humans west

all the spirits in a drum circle

all the shredders fly

EVENING

green tea appetizer

ghosts begin peering for prey

five poems alive in my book

…all in a Venice beach day
