Poetry is allowed to be a journal

allowed to be written by the pound…

Lawrence was wrong

then right…

so is life

I suppose

There are many poems for me

to cross to create to experience

on this journey

and they are about me

and you

and the jazz playing right now

and witnessing a friend

breaking through a barrier of her fears

breaking through what she never thought possible

but dreamed of…always

 

Poetry is just a thought

or many thoughts

or the realization that I have no thought

or just the want of creating words on a page;

to talk without having to hear my own voice

 

Poetry is realizing that part of me

at this moment

is Earnest

tight off beer wine gin and smoke

drifting across the rocks and ponds on this planet

 

…all of that,

at least,
