saying sorry

April 1st, 2013 § 1 comment

Poem #78 for Clifford Banagale

Saying you are sorry

often entails

you needing not ever say it in the first place

Change your actions

or

shatter your insecurities

Standing up to a loved one

living in a world of fictitious surrealism,

who selfishly ends the circle of generosity

immediately after receipt

not only is necessary for your independence

but it also solidifies the bond

that lovers are suppose to forge iron-clad strong.

Take with no give,

self-driven with no sacrifice,

demanding void of responsibility

are lessons needing to be unlearned

if not walked away from entirely.

Because, one day,

you might find yourself

still saying sorry

alone

long after you have given everything you have.
