Poem #125 for The Bartender at The Fat Cat

It is sweet

the old New York romance of it:

tired rejected writer forcing intoxication at the bar

beautiful young tender of the drinks

both looking for something to make sense

but from opposite sides of life

and the end game’s all the same:

us naked, sweaty, masturbating words onto each other

rebelling against while fucking towards

Another beer entertains a fantasy:

drink till closing time

then the new muse extends the invite

for a walk

then a nightcap

then a kiss

then a story for future use:

the young and impressionable

curious lips kissing lustfully curious lips

stripping bodies to the creator’s bare self

a pounce thrust upon each other

for the voyeuristic sins of the horny angels

It is meant to come then go

this sweet little fantasy

a New York minute

raging sweet and apropos:

the erotic impact of two artists:

savage heat experienced

in secret

on and off the page
