Poem #117 for Gift Poem for Cynthia Wood

I am missing something

Everyone tells me to make money

to take care of myself for the future

Inside

there is a pull to help

to donate this life to a cause

They both tug so hard

I am left stuck standing still

trying

after all these years

to commit to one or the other;

everyone or me, coin or god

hoping there is some lesson

I am missing
