god, love

April 2nd, 2013 § 0 comments

Poem #79 for Alexis Carra

A person seeking spiritual wisdom

often becomes intent on proving what their desire wants.

By that point, their church is already built,

and knowledge has already replaced wisdom.

Let me be clear from the beginning

(since you do not know me well)

I do not believe that there is a God

though I know that god exists

I pressed you to support

and you pressed back with God, Love

demanding facetiously that I make it good

and, days later,

I still struggle with the dilemma of

whether to give you want you want

or give you the truth

Because, truth is,

there is no God

and yours is created solely

from a need to be happy, at peace

in an attempt to justify, satisfy, validate

the beauty, talent and perfect gift you are to the world.

There is a passionate need

in this city of broken dreams

to accept your worth as a mask of passion

rather than stand on top of the true mountain of heaven

alone

not above but enlightened beyond

the false hopes we necessitate

with the humanity of our mammalian mind.

No individual was created to fit in as a piece of an organized society

and god, if there was he himself, would never allow you to

seek acceptance from anyone

or require you to

fight so hard to understand and prove your self-worth

It has become all too easy too acceptable, to counter-argue

an opinion you have dedicated your life to answering

but if we speak truths right now,

which is the path I have chosen,

then there is no way around the moment we met,

the ease of that simple hello

which contained all of the cumulative elements

I, personally, have ever known god and love to be

I am a passionate person.

My life is about loving the most out of any situation I am in,

like draining life-saving sap from the Aloe.

And, why not?

To do otherwise just does not make any sense.

This life of mine is completely impulsive,

but do people really believe that our impulses

are only in us in order to be contained?

That is absurd to me.

If I meet someone, and there is that surge,

as there was with you,

then that is what god intended love to be.

Love does not need to be everlasting;

It does not need to be defined;

It does not need to be anything

you think or truly believe it needs to be.

All love, all god, needs to be is itself,

as you get to be, as I get to be.

That’s the secret simplicity that everyone searches for

within their definitions of what god is.

There is no bearded man or pre-destined spirit;

god is you, me, the ocean, the stars, the dreams, the fantasies;

god is energy, all there is, the culmination of it all.

And god and love get to be whatever it is we want them to be

because we are all, together,

creating them, constantly.

We are meant to be reckless,

because we have logic,

because we know we are no longer savage.

We need not think anymore,

because we have developed new habits in our evolution.

I mean this in the most honest way,

and I tell you this most humbly,

knowing that the consequences are quite simple…

I either gain someone perfect

or continue on this wonderful path I have been on.

It all is quite wonderful within this life I have created

Because, me, personally, I do not believe in god

I just believe that we are the reason that god exists.

So, stranger,

How far do we go…?
