Nine minutes
All the time I have left of this thought
in the New Year
One thought
through the stares
and whispers
this homeless soul
lost, mumbling and cursing
hating all of life

in the city of all sorts

You are reading this
as a result of gratitude
These words exist
because of someone’s curiosity
You
the one person who this is intended for
are a care within someone’s life

everyday when I walk to the train station
or walk from the train station
i pass dozens of your typical queens-type houses
all of them are raised two-stories
with basement closets that have been converted
as the third and final story

Believe in the right people!
Everyone needs someone to believe in them
but not everyone is healthy for you to believe in
We all have limits
on what we can give, can receive
before the balance of our lives becomes disrupted
